YANGON, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar government is planning to establish a modern movie park in Nay Pyi Taw, comprising movie studio, film school and cinema-based entertainment center, Myanmar News Agency reported Tuesday.

Minister of Information Pe Myint told a coordination meeting Monday that the establishment is aimed at developing Myanmar's movie industry and promoting the country's image in film making and developing the capital.

The move is also aimed at presenting the traditions and culture of Myanmar in a more interesting way through the art of motion picture and making the world know more about Myanmar, he said, pledging the government's assistance for the set-up.

These movies will be dubbed in English.

Deputy Minister of Information U Aung Hla Tun suggested that the work should ensure transparency.

Meanwhile, in a film academy awards presentation ceremony held in Yangon in March, State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi also pledged the government's support for further development of the country's movie industry, urging artists to work hard in their movie, performing arts and literary industry to represent Myanmar and uplift Myanmar society.

On March 23, the Myanmar Motion Picture Association presented a total of 12 film academy awards for the year 2017 to the country's outstanding artists.

Aiming at encouraging domestic film production and bringing up its quality, the film academy award presentations were annually held since 1952.
