NAIROBI, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Kenya is considering a raft of fiscal and policy incentives in order to lure filmmakers into the country, the industry regulator said on Monday.

Ezekiel Mutua, the CEO of the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB), told a media briefing in Nairobi that Kenya has some of the best filming locations in the world and is also recognized as the cradle of humanity with Turkana in northeast Kenya being recorded as the place where the fossils of the first man were discovered.

"We are therefore going to introduce incentives to make Kenya the most attractive film making destination in Africa," Mutua said during a meeting with Hollywood film actors and professionals who are visiting Kenya.

Mutua noted that Kenya has lost a lot of film productions deals to South Africa due to an unfavorable business environment for film makers.

The CEO said that Kenya has identified the creative industry as having a huge potential to provide employment opportunities for the youth.
