LONDON, July 24 (Xinhua) -- The United Kingdom (UK) is expected to lose 16,500 millionaires, the most in the world, this year, a report from the British investment migration consultancy Henley & Partners showed Thursday.
According to the Henley Private Wealth Migration Report 2025, a total of 142,000 millionaires are projected to relocate globally this year, and the UK is forecast to record the greatest net outflow of high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) among all countries.
The United Arab Emirates continues to hold its position as the world's top destination for wealth migration, with a record net inflow of more than 9,800 relocating millionaires anticipated this year, the report noted.
For the first time, the European Union (EU) heavyweights France, Spain and Germany are expected to see net HNWI losses this year, with predicted net outflows of 800, 500 and 400 millionaires, respectively.
Juerg Steffen, CEO of Henley & Partners, noted that the result indicates not just changes to the "tax regime," which refers to the UK, but also reflects that the wealthy have seen more opportunities elsewhere. "The long-term implications for Europe and the UK's economic competitiveness and investment appeal are significant," he said. ■
