ISLAMABAD, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Two troops and three terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province, the military said in a statement on Thursday.

The operation was conducted by security forces on Wednesday in Mastung district on the reported presence of terrorists, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani military, said in the statement.

The troops engaged the terrorists, killing three of them during an intense exchange of fire, the ISPR said, adding that an officer and a soldier were also killed in the engagement. ■
