BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Austrian top-seed Dominic Thiem won his second Argentina Open title in three years by breezing past Slovenia's Alijaz Bedene 6-2, 6-4 on Sunday.
The 24-year-old needed just one hour and 30 minutes to secure his ninth career title and first in almost a year.
"When you win a tournament it's good news, because we're used to losing more than winning," Thiem said.
"With these conditions-slow and hot-there are many chances for me to play well. It was my goal before starting the week and it is incredible to have achieved it."
Thiem did not drop a set in the clay court event at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club and now holds a 3-0 head-to-head record against Bedene.
