SYDNEY, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- The New South Wales (NSW) State Government in Australia have given Sydneysiders a sneak peak at the soon-to-be-built Sydney Football Stadium on Friday.

Offering football fans "an experience like no other," NSW Sports Minister Stuart Ayres said the new stadium will bring Sydney into the 21st century.

"From technology and design to amazing views, it's nothing short of world class," he said.

Featuring a "state of the art" roof design that's able to reflect noise back into the stadium, as well as light up in home team colors, Ayres said it will create a "colosseum of light and sound" in what's expected to be a 45,000 seat venue.

"We've used the natural environment as inspiration in the design, with a striking bronze facade in place that reflects Sydney's unique sandstone geology, and a lightweight cloud-like roof structure," he said.

Part a 2 billion Australian (1.42 billion U.S.) dollar State Government plan, two other Sydney venues are also being given similar upgrades.

The rebuilt Western Sydney Stadium in Parramatta is set for completion midway through next year, while Sydney's Olympic venue at Homebush is also being prepped for a major facelift.

According to Ayres, fans can expect to see Sydney F.C. playing at the new Sydney Football Stadium at Moore Park by 2022.
